Apropriate Point of Care (APOC) Description:

Objective:

Taking from the insights we drew from our interviews with patients and health officials across the Ashanti region(Ghana, Africa), we set out to design something that empowered Ghanaian diabetics needing an accessible and affordable means to measure their blood glucose in order to actively manage their disease condition.

Solution:

We designed a cross-brand test strip adapter for specific glucometers, wherein the insert for a particular model type differentiates one test-strip adapter from another. This adaptor is called APOC which stands for appropriate point of care
